Cardiff by the Sea, a gorgeous beach community nestled between Encinitas and Solana Beach, is occupied by less than only 12,000. It once operated as part of Encinitas, but now is considered a separate entity. The Pacific Ocean waves roll to it's west side, and the beach and lagoon to the south. Cardiff by the Sea emulates a perfect small-town atmosphere, like many of it's neighbors. Yet only 25 miles south is the second largest city in California, San Diego. The commute from Cardiff by the Sea to Downtown San Diego is reasonable. Most housing is located on the hillsides with unbelievable Pacific Ocean views.
